Shops are the only sector the Valuation Office values by zoning, and the Zone A rate it applies to each shopping pitch is published but not readable anywhere in plain English. These pages read it, authority by authority.

“Shops” here is the VOA’s own sub-sector within Retail, covering its 24 SCat codes — 008, 011, 024, 106, 086, 097, 098, 417, 139, 504, 152, 154, 155, 165, 210, 425, 429, 235, 243, 507, 249, 508, 251, 442 — so it takes in amusement arcades, market stalls, showrooms and post offices alongside ordinary retail units. Every code is listed on the SCat categories page.
